Ajax wants to sign Marc-André ter Stegen
Ajax Amsterdam is stepping up its efforts to sign Marc-André ter Stegen. According to Sky Sport Germany, the Dutch club is intensifying talks to secure a loan for the German goalkeeper, whose future at FC Barcelona appears set to unfold far from Catalonia.
At 34, Ter Stegen lost his starting spot last season. The arrival of Joan García shuffled the deck, pushing the German shot-stopper towards the exit door. Despite initially wanting to stay, he eventually joined Girona on loan during the winter transfer window, only for an injury to hamper his return to action.
Ajax now hopes to capitalize on its strong relationship with FC Barcelona to seal the deal. The recent arrival of Míchel on the Amsterdam bench could also work in the Dutch club's favor, as the coach maintains excellent relations with the German goalkeeper. However, no agreement has yet been reached between the parties involved.
