Ahmed Hammoudan, AS FAR Rabat winger, delivered a strong statement after the clash with Al Ahly, played on the final matchday of the CAF Champions League group stage.

The Moroccan international reflected on the incidents surrounding this two-legged tie and called on the Confederation of African Football to show fairness in enforcing its regulations.

"We respected CAF’s decision, now we hope for reciprocity"

Speaking to Moroccan outlet Al Botola, Hammoudan said: "I hope the rules will be applied to them as strictly as they were to us. It was not easy to accept the way we were treated."

He continued: "We respected CAF’s decision, even though it felt harsh. We accepted it with fair play. This time, we hope for a just and equitable decision, and that the necessary measures will be taken as they should."

The return leg in Cairo was marred by water bottles being thrown at Moroccan players, a reaction to the incidents that occurred during the first leg in Morocco.

To recall, the first encounter was already tense, especially after a sharp object was thrown at Al Ahly’s Mahmoud Hassan "Trezeguet," along with other projectiles landing on the pitch. Unfortunately, similar scenes unfolded during the second leg.

On the pitch, the match ended in a goalless draw (0-0). Both teams advanced to the quarter-finals: Al Ahly finished top of the group with 10 points, while AS FAR secured second place with 9 points.
