Karim Benzema could already be on his way out of Al-Hilal. According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Saudi club is looking to terminate the French striker's contract prematurely, notably because Simone Inzaghi no longer sees him in his plans.

Inzaghi no longer wants Benzema

After his stint at Al-Ittihad, Benzema arrived at Al-Hilal but has struggled to establish himself in the plans of the new Italian coach. Inzaghi now wants to overhaul his attacking line and does not see the Frenchman as part of his plans for the rest of the season.

The Al-Hilal management is therefore seeking to fulfill their coach's wishes. Yet, Benzema's stats remain impressive. Since joining, the former Real Madrid player has featured in 14 matches, tallying 10 goals and 5 assists.

A complicated split?

The main issue is contractual. Karim Benzema is tied to Al-Hilal until mid-2027, with part of his salary covered by Saudi authorities. According to Sacha Tavolieri, the 38-year-old is not opposed to an early exit. However, he has made one thing clear: he wants to receive the full amount of this season's salary.

For now, Al-Hilal and the relevant authorities have not agreed to his demand. On his side, Benzema has no reason to accept a departure that would cost him part of his earnings. His on-field performances also back up his stance.
