Now 41 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo is inexorably approaching the end of his illustrious career.

It's plain to see! It’s no longer a secret, but the Portuguese legend has revealed even more during an interview with Vogue. Asked about his future, with his Al-Nassr contract set to expire in a year, Cristiano Ronaldo admitted that this is likely to be the final season of his career. This announcement puts a damper on any hopes of seeing him push on until Euro 2028 with Portugal.

“This is probably my last year as a professional, and I want to leave an indelible mark. I’ve already planned everything for the future. I have so many things keeping me busy that it’s hard to pick just one. Football will leave a big void, so you have to diversify your activities. And also, enjoy life more, travel, watch and play padel—a sport I love—and continue to savor what I’ve achieved, what we have achieved. After all, it’s been 25 years and a lot of sacrifices,” declared the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
