Alejandro Grimaldo moves closer to a return to Spain

Alejandro Grimaldo's future could soon be written in Spain. Having established himself as one of the Bundesliga's top full-backs since joining Bayer Leverkusen, the Spanish international is now attracting attention from Atlético Madrid.

According to the latest reports, the Madrid club has reached out to the player to assess the feasibility of a transfer. This interest is no coincidence, as Grimaldo has recently expressed his desire to return to La Liga before the end of his career. For now, there have been no confirmed official negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen. However, the player's wish to come back to Spain could move the deal forward in the coming weeks.

Under contract until 2027, the 30-year-old remains a reliable figure in European football. His performances in Germany have not gone unnoticed by several major clubs, including Atlético Madrid, who are clearly determined to secure his signature.
