In recent days, some rumors have suggested a possible U-turn by the player, who was reportedly considering joining Algeria after originally choosing the French national team, due to a lack of stability in his role at the highest level.

But in reality, a reversal now appears legally impossible. The attacking midfielder has already played several official matches for France’s senior team, a threshold that definitively locks in his national team choice under current regulations.

FIFA does not allow any exceptions in this specific case: once a player has been definitively capped in official competition with a senior national team, the choice is irreversible. Regardless of speculation, the case now appears closed from an administrative standpoint, even though public debate continues to rage.
