Amine Gouiri to leave Marseille? Algerian star linked with summer 2026 exit

Amine Gouiri could be on his way out of Olympique de Marseille in the summer of 2026 as the club’s sporting and financial instability pushes the Algerian forward toward a potential transfer according to reports from French media.

The situation at Marseille has deteriorated in recent weeks, with results on the pitch raising serious concerns about the club’s immediate future.

Poor form puts Marseille under pressure

Marseille have lost three of their last four Ligue 1 matches, dropping to fourth place with just four rounds remaining in the 2025 /26 season.

Their position now leaves them at real risk of missing out on qualification for Champions League.

The downturn has triggered strong reactions inside the club. Following the 0-2 defeat to Lorient, sporting director Medhi Benatia did not hold back describing the current situation as “an unprecedented scandal”.. a sign of growing internal frustration.

Financial concerns driving potential sales

Behind the sporting decline lies a deeper financial issue. According to Le10Sport, Marseille are planning a major summer clear out targeting around €100 million in player sales to stabilise their accounts.

Gouiri is among the leading candidates to leave. The 26 year old currently valued at around €28 million, is seen as one of the club’s most marketable assets.

The timing of this situation adds another layer of complexity for Gouiri. The Algerian international is preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup which will mark his first appearance at the tournament since committing to Algeria in late 2023.
