Morocco head coach Walid Regragui has called up Amine Zouhzouh, the AS FAR winger, in preparation for the two friendly matches against Tunisia and Benin.

The native of M’diq comes in to replace Brahim Diaz, the Real Madrid player, who was forced to withdraw due to health reasons.

Here are 5 things to know about the new Atlas Lion.

• He developed at the Mohamed VI Academy, an institution that has produced several high-quality players for the Moroccan national team, including Nayef Aguerd, Azdine Ounahi, Youssef En-Nesyri, and others.
• In 2019, he had a very brief and unsuccessful stint in France, during which he didn’t manage to make a single appearance with the first team.

• Back in Morocco, he reignited his career with Union Touarga Sportif, where he scored 12 goals and delivered 5 assists in 29 matches.
• He later signed for AS FAR, featuring in 80 matches across all competitions, tallying 24 goals and 24 assists.
• His market value is currently estimated at €1.6 million, according to the specialized website Transfermarkt.
