Amir Abdou makes a big announcement about his future

Since his dismissal from his position as Mauritania's head coach in November 2024, Amir Abdou has not found another landing spot. Recently, in an interview, the Franco-Comorian coach gave some hints about his future.

Free of any contract, Amir Abdou is taking the time to travel, explore the world, and various leagues. From Africa to Asia, passing through Europe and America, no area is off-limits to the 52-year-old coach. He doesn't want to step away from coaching too soon. Therefore, he is taking the time to study new tactics based on what he observes in the various stadiums.

Asked about his future as a coach, the former Comoros manager didn't specify any particular detail. He is open to all challenges, whether in a club or national team:

I don't have any specific preference. A club or a national team, it doesn't matter. What interests me is the project. As you know, I am a coach who likes to work over the long term. Tomorrow, if I'm called for a two or three-month mission, like a "one-shot," but with nothing behind it, I'm really not sure at all that I would accept. In my profession, the most important thing is to implement a project, its ideas. That's how I see things.

Moreover, Amir Abdou admits that he feels a unique pleasure working in Africa, and he wouldn't hesitate to take a new step on the bench of an African team, even though the Gulf is quite tempting:

I would like to work there again because it's a continent I love, that I know well. And people know me a little too. But I'm not closing any doors. I'm also looking at what's happening in Asia, especially in the Gulf.
