Antonio Conte is enjoying his break despite the rumours
Antonio Conte is in no hurry to return to the dugout. Without a club since leaving Napoli, the Italian coach is currently enjoying a period of rest, while his name continues to be linked with Manchester United and Juventus. In a statement reported by Football Italia, the manager explained that he wanted to make the most of this break.
A fully embraced break
After two seasons at Napoli, notably ending with a Scudetto and an Italian Super Cup, Conte decided to take a step back. The Italian had also been mentioned for the national team manager’s position, which was ultimately given to Roberto Mancini.
Taking part remotely in the celebrations marking the Juventus’ 30th anniversary of their European triumph in 1996, Conte spoke with emotion about his memories of the team managed by Marcello Lippi.
I’m still on holiday, since this year I have the opportunity to rest and relax.
Manchester United and Juventus interested
This break has not, however, put an end to speculation about his future. Manchester United and Juventus are among the clubs regularly linked with Conte. The Italian knows the English league perfectly well after his spells at Chelsea and Tottenham, while his history with Juventus remains particularly strong.
For now, no decision regarding his next club has been announced. Conte appears above all to want to take the time to choose the project that suits him.
