Austrian Bundesliga outfit SV Ried have announced the contract extension of South Africa international Antonio Van Wyk.

The 23-year-old put pen to paper on a deal that runs until June 2027, ending speculation about a possible return to the Betway Premiership.

Van Wyk signed for Ried in September 2024 from boyhood club Stellenbosch FC, where he lifted the inaugural Carling Knockout Cup in December 2023.

Since completing a move to Europe, the speedy winger has been instrumental, helping Ried secure promotion to the topflight by virtue of winning the second-tier championship last season.

Meanwhile, Van Wyk has chipped in with three goals and four assists in 23 matches across all competitions this season.

Ried, who sit seventh with 28 points from 21 league outings, return to action with a clash against Austrian Wien on Sunday, 08 March.
