Argentina are the most decorated national team in football history with 22 titles, counting only major FIFA titles and inter-confederation trophies.

La Albiceleste have won the World Cup three times (1978, 1986, 2022), the Copa América 16 times (1921, 1925, 1927, 1929, 1937, 1941, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1955, 1957, 1959, 1991, 1993, 2021, 2024), the Confederations Cup once in 1992 and the Finalissima twice, in 1993 and 2022, in matches between the CONMEBOL and UEFA champions.

Brazil follow with 18 titles, notably the all-time record of five World Cup wins in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002, as well as four Confederations Cups (1997, 2005, 2009, 2013).
