Argentina: “I love you with all my heart”, Lisandro Martinez to Messi

Argentina international defender Lisandro Martinez paid tribute in his own way to his now former captain, Lionel Messi.

After his 208th and final match with Argentina, in a friendly against Benin (3-0) on Tuesday night, Lionel Messi said goodbye to the national team. Lisandro Martinez spoke about the void that the departure of the Albiceleste’s iconic forward will leave.

“What a privilege it was to share the pitch with the greatest athlete of all time. The greatest of them all is leaving us. We will miss you for the rest of our lives, Leo. I love you with all my heart,” the Manchester United centre-back wrote on his Instagram account.

From now on, to watch Messi play, fans will have to follow Inter Miami’s matches in MLS.
