Arsenal: how much will Mikel Arteta earn per year?

Mikel Arteta is set to extend his contract with Arsenal shortly and see his salary increase. According to the BBC, the Spanish coach should now earn £15 million per year, excluding any potential bonuses.

A £5 million increase

Talks between Mikel Arteta and Arsenal are on the verge of reaching a conclusion. The coach recently indicated that negotiations over his new contract were well advanced. The two parties are now believed to have reached an agreement on the main details of the extension. All that remains is the signing and official announcement.

According to the BBC, the new contract should run until June 30, 2030. This extension will above all come with a significant salary increase. Arteta should go from an annual salary of £10 million to £15 million, to which bonuses may be added.

Arteta set to extend contract until 2030

This increase therefore represents an additional £5 million per year for the Spanish coach. Having taken over as Arsenal manager in December 2019, Arteta has gradually established himself as the leading figure in charge of the London club’s sporting project.

Since his appointment, he has notably won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Community Shield. At 44, Arteta is therefore expected to continue his work at Arsenal under a new contract that will also improve his financial terms.
