Ashley Cupido continues scoring form in Israel
Ashley Cupido found the back of the net as Kiryat Yam thumped Hapoel Ironi Akko 5-0 in matchday four of the Leumit League over the weekend.
The South Africa international scored the fourth goal of the match in the 76th minute, taking his tally to three goals in four league outings thus far.
He joined the Israeli second-tier outfit on a season-long loan from Betway Premiership side Stellenbosch FC after an underwhelming 2025/26 campaign.
Cupido scored a solitary goal and provided two assists in 38 matches across all competitions for Stellies last season, prompting a loan exit.
In contrast, the player impressed in his debut season with Stellenbosch as he netted five goals with three assists in 39 games, including nine in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The 25-year-old was the subject of revived interest from Tanzanian giants Simba SC, before completing a move to the Middle East in July.
Kiryat Yam, meanwhile, currently sit in sixth place on the Israeli second division standings, having picked up six points from the opening four matches of the season.
Cupido will be looking to maintain his scoring form when his team visit Hapoel Rishon LeZion in their next league outing on Thursday, 10 September.
