Athletic Club: PSG want to snatch Nico Williams

Now being courted by several European heavyweights, Athletic Club's Spanish winger Nico Williams was notably on Paris Saint-Germain's radar.

The information was revealed by the player's agent, Félix Tainta, during an interview with the Los Fulanos podcast. “Everyone wanted Nico: Barça, Bayern Munich, PSG, Arsenal, Liverpool… Finding a player who says no to all these teams isn't easy,” he said.

This statement confirms that PSG were among the contenders to sign the Spanish international, who has been particularly sought-after after his impressive performances with La Roja.

Nico Williams' camp open to a move away from Bilbao

Although he decided to continue his adventure in Bilbao in the summer of 2025, Nico Williams is now under contract until 2035. However, a departure is indeed being considered by the player's entourage. “Nico had the idea of leaving because he is ambitious,” Félix Tainta admitted, as he also looked back on the negotiations with FC Barcelona.

The move to Catalonia ultimately fell through due to Barça's financial uncertainties, as the club could not guarantee the player's registration.
