Manchester United: Lisandro Martinez releases new statement and apologises
On Thursday evening, Lisandro Martinez once again broke his silence over the dispute with Manchester United's management.
As a reminder, following Manchester United's 0-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, Lisandro Martinez openly criticised the Red Devils' recruitment last summer. In an initial statement, the Argentine had justified his decision to speak out.
Martinez apologises and calls for unity
On Thursday, as rumours of a departure continue to grow, the Argentine defender apologised while reaffirming his commitment to the club. "Today, I met with the club's management and the coach. It was a very positive conversation, during which we were able to exchange our views and speak openly about what happened after the match. Everyone knows that I am a passionate person and that I experience football with great intensity. The frustration of the defeat led me to express what I was feeling at a time and in a place that may not have been the most appropriate, and for that, I want to apologise," the Argentine wrote.

"Our club is at its best when we are all united, and I recognise that my words at that time did not contribute to that. I know that everyone at Manchester United is doing everything possible to achieve our shared ambition: to bring the success that this club and its supporters deserve. With this situation now behind us, we are fully focused on winning, together," he added.
