Atlético Madrid wants to make a move for Yasin Ayari in January!

Atlético Madrid are already laying the groundwork for their next round of transfer business. With the club eager to bolster their midfield options, their attention has reportedly turned to Yasin Ayari, the Swedish playmaker of Tunisian descent currently plying his trade at Brighton. The 22-year-old has now found his way onto the shortlist of targets the Colchoneros are weighing up ahead of the winter window in 2027.

Atlético Madrid enters the race with Newcastle United for Yasin Ayari

According to exclusive information from Turkish journalist Ercan Konur, Fenerbahçe has entered the race to sign the young Brentford player this coming winter.

Reports indicate that Real Madrid officials dispatched scouts to run the rule over the player during Sweden's recent UEFA Nations League. Ayari, who started both matches, produced a standout showing and finding the net once and setting up another goal, further underlining the qualities that have caught the eye of a host of major European clubs.

Brighton is interested in securing the player and keeping him

Having landed at Brighton back in January 2023 from AIK for a fee in the region of €4million, Ayari has since cemented his place within the English club's setup. To date, he has racked up 82 appearances, chipping in with 7 goals and 4 assists in the Seagulls shirt.

His current deal runs until June 2027, though Brighton are keen to safeguard his future. The English side are expected to trigger an option in the near future that would extend his commitment through to June 2028.

Such an extension could strengthen Brighton's hand at the negotiating table and complicate the ambitions of his suitors — among whom Atlético Madrid now appear determined to play a leading role.
