Aubameyang opens up about his last season at OM

In a recent interview with L'Equipe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looked back on OM's disappointing last season.

The Gabon international striker believes that the players weren't the only ones to blame. "It was a very, very tough season. The circumstances were quite unusual with all the changes that happened at the club. It wasn't a healthy or stable environment. I think everyone shares some responsibility for this season that didn't go well: us, the players, but also the staff and the management. Communication didn't really work between both sides. That's how it is, it happens. When you're at Marseille, you have to manage to create a bubble and not let yourself be influenced by everything that's going on outside. That wasn't the case last season and it cost us dearly." revealed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who now plays for Deportivo La Coruna.

The Gabonese forward also didn't hide his deep disappointment: "Yes, because at a certain point, I think we were still capable of competing for everything. We were knocked out of the Champions League and that was a failure, but there were still things left to play for. And unfortunately, it felt like everything was chaotic. As soon as we lost a match, it felt like the end of the world and we could never see anything positive. It's a shame to let ourselves get so down when we knew we could still go for the league and the Coupe de France."
