According to Brazilian outlet UmDois Esportes, the Blaugrana's head of scouting, Joao Amaral, made the trip to the Arena da Baixada to personally observe the potential new arrival during the Brazilian Serie A clash against Bahia. In that match, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the hosts, the young defender completed the full 90 minutes, confidently marshaling the left side of a back three.

Dias is clearly a player in demand, as evidenced by Athletico Paranaense's decision last summer to reject a €21 million offer from England, while his long-term contract is set to run until the end of 2028.
