Barcelona will renew Raphinha's contract, making him the highest-paid player on the team!

Raphinha’s growing importance at Barcelona could soon be rewarded with a new contract, as the Catalan club looks to ensure that the Brazilian winger remains at Camp Nou well beyond the expiration of his current deal in 2028.

Barcelona sporting director Deco is reportedly keen to open discussions over an extension that could add another one or two years to Raphinha’s stay. While formal negotiations have yet to get underway, the club is expected to explore the possibility with the player and his representatives in the coming weeks.

The interest in extending his contract reflects how significantly Raphinha’s standing has changed since arriving in Spain. What began as a major attacking addition has developed into a central role within the squad, with the winger now regarded as one of the team's influential figures and having taken on the responsibility of captaincy.

From Brazil to Barcelona’s Leadership Group

Raphinha’s journey to the top level of European football began in Brazil with Avaí before taking him to Vitória Guimarães and Sporting. His performances eventually earned him a move to Rennes in 2019, where he continued to attract attention before making the switch to the Premier League with Leeds United a year later.

His two seasons at Elland Road proved decisive. Operating as one of Leeds’ most dangerous attacking players, Raphinha established himself as a target for some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Barcelona ultimately won the race for his signature in the summer of 2022.

Since moving to Catalonia, the Brazilian has steadily evolved into a key component of Barcelona’s attack and a senior presence within the dressing room. His importance has also been reflected at international level, where he remains an important member of Brazil’s squad.
