Real Madrid were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League by Bayern Munich after a spectacular second leg of the 2025-2026 quarter-finals.
Traveling to the Allianz Arena on Wednesday, Madrid got off to the perfect start. In the very first minute, Arda Güler opened the scoring with a precise strike, catching Manuel Neuer off guard.
Bayern Munich’s response was immediate. In the 6th minute, Aleksandar Pavlović capitalized on a poor clearance by goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to equalize from a corner.
Still dangerous, Real Madrid regained the lead in the 28th minute thanks to a stunning free-kick from Arda Güler, who bagged a brace.
Just before half-time, Harry Kane brought the two sides level again (38’), finishing off a brilliant team move with a clinical strike inside the box.
But Los Blancos seized the advantage again before the break: Kylian Mbappé netted the third goal in the 42nd minute, capping a thrilling first half.
In the second half, Bayern ramped up the pressure. Persistence paid off, and Bayern Munich drew level once more thanks to Luis Díaz, who scored the third goal in the 88th minute.
In a breathless finale, Michael Olise sealed victory for the Bavarians by scoring the fourth goal in stoppage time (90+4), ensuring a well-deserved qualification for the German club.
