Bayern: Jamal Musiala edges closer to his return
Jamal Musiala has reached another milestone in his recovery. According to Bayern Munich, the 23-year-old took part in an individual session on Thursday at Säbener Straße with fitness coach Simon Martinello. The German worked in particular on changes of direction and completed several exercises with the ball.
Musiala gradually returns
This return comes less than two weeks after his injury with the Germany team. Musiala had been forced to withdraw from the match against the Netherlands after feeling pain during the warm-up. Examinations revealed a muscle tear in his right thigh, prompting his early return to Munich to begin his rehabilitation with Bayern.
After an initial phase devoted to treatment and individual work, the attacking midfielder can now gradually increase the intensity of his exercises. His participation in ball-work sequences is notably an encouraging sign in his recovery process.
Augsburg still too soon
Despite this positive development, Musiala will not be available for Bayern's trip to Augsburg this weekend in the Bundesliga. The Bavarian club does not want to take any risks with its player, whose return to team training will still have to wait.
Bayern's schedule also makes managing his return particularly important. The club must play seven matches in 22 days during October, including a trip to Viking Stavanger in the Champions League, a home game against Arsenal and the Klassiker against Dortmund.
