Bénie Traoré set for Basel exit
Bénie Traoré's departure is looking increasingly likely. The 23-year-old Ivorian striker, currently playing for FC Basel, is in advanced talks with a Major League Soccer club.
The Swiss club has confirmed that the player has been granted permission to temporarily leave the squad to negotiate with another team, signaling that a transfer could be imminent. Among the possible destinations, the New York Red Bulls have emerged as the frontrunners. The American side is reportedly ready to spend a significant fee to secure the Ivorian goal-scorer.
Signed in 2024, Traoré quickly made his mark in Basel thanks to his attacking prowess, netting 11 goals in 39 appearances last season. A move to MLS would mark a new chapter in the young striker's career, giving him the chance to experience a rapidly developing league.
