Benrahma speaks out on Rayan Cherki's decision to represent France!

The Algerian star Saïd Benrahma, forward for Saudi club Neom, has spoken about his conversations with his former Franco-Algerian teammate, Rayan Cherki, regarding a possible move to the Algerian national team.

Benrahma comments on Cherki's decision

Speaking to the media on Wednesday in the mixed zone at Chahid Hamlaoui Stadium, Benrahma made it clear that the Cherki case was now out of their hands: "Rayan has chosen to continue his international career with the French national team, and we fully respect his decision. Today, our priority is to strengthen our squad and achieve results worthy of Algerian football."

He continued: "Every player is free to make their own choices, and those decisions must be respected. I spoke with Rayan at a time when he was still weighing his options, but the final decision was always his."

Addressing Cherki's statements denying any official contact with the Algerian Federation, Benrahma clarified: “Personal discussions between players are natural, but official approaches are the responsibility of the relevant authorities and follow well-defined procedures.”


In conclusion, Saïd Benrahma stressed the need to stay focused on the challenges ahead: “Right now, we need to remain fully committed on the pitch. We must play to win and keep our momentum going. After our 5-0 victory in the last match, we’re hoping to deliver that level of performance again. The main thing is to bring real added value to the squad and keep racking up wins that boost the morale of both the team and our supporters.”
