Bernard Parker is delighted to be appointed as the new coach of TS Galaxy!
Bernard Parker has spoken of his pride after being entrusted with the head coach role at TS Galaxy, a move that sees the former Kaizer Chiefs striker take permanent charge of the Betway Premiership side.
Parker stepped into the dugout toward the end of last season following the departure of Adnan Beganovic. His first major assignment was the Nedbank Cup final against Durban City, which Galaxy narrowly lost 2‑1 to the KwaZulu‑Natal outfit.
Despite that disappointment, the 39‑year‑old has been backed by club chairman Tim Sukazi to lead the team on a permanent basis — a vote of confidence Parker deeply appreciates.
"It's not a surprise at all because we've had a lot of discussions in terms of the way forward, but also in terms of what I've done and what we've done together. Him giving me that confidence makes me feel proud of myself and proud of the group of players," Parker said.
His immediate task is to secure Galaxy’s top‑flight status and push for a top‑eight finish after the club ended last season in the bottom half. With a full pre‑season to implement his ideas, Parker will now have the opportunity to shape the squad in his own image. The challenge ahead is significant, but the former Bafana Bafana international appears ready to embrace it.
