Brazil: Carlo Ancelotti's harsh words for his players
Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of Brazil, did not spare his players after their friendly defeat to Japan (2-3).
Despite holding a two-goal lead until the 52nd minute on Tuesday, Brazil ultimately succumbed on Japanese soil (2-3) in a friendly match. According to Carlo Ancelotti, this defeat serves as a valuable lesson for the Brazilian squad, just eight months ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
"Itâs a good lesson. There are things we need to learn from todayâs match, especially from the second half. The team played very well against South Korea (5-0) five days ago. Tonight, they played well in the first half and were very weak afterwards. The biggest mistake my team made? Not reacting properly after the first error, exactly. Up until our goalkeeperâs mistake, everything was under control. After that, I fully understand what happened: the team lost their composure. That was the biggest mistake. I donât think my playersâ attitude was bad," said the former Real Madrid coach at the press conference.
