BREAKING: Kaizer Chiefs announce first signing for 2026/27 season

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signing of highly-rated defender Thabo Moloisane ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The 27-year-old stalwart joins on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at Stellenbosch FC, where he established himself as a commanding figure at the back.

He had joined the Cape Winelands outfit from Maritzburg United in July 2023, and went on to make a total of 115 appearances across all competitions.

Moloisane helped Stellies clinch the Carling Knockout Cup, reach back-to-back MTN8 finals, and qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup during his spell at the club.

Now, he is set for a new chapter at Naturena, where he reportedly put pen to paper on a three-year deal that will keep him with the Glamour Boys until June 2029.

“Kaizer Chiefs are delighted to announce the arrival of Thabo Moloisane for the upcoming season,” read the club statement.

"Born in Meadowlands, Soweto, the defender joins us from Stellenbosch FC, where he made an impressive 115 appearances over three seasons. Primarily a centre-back, Moloisane's quality and consistency earned two national team call-ups during his time in the Western Cape.

"Importantly, he brings valuable experience of African competition, having featured in the Confederation Cup. His continental pedigree will be key for Amakhosi as the team returns to CAF competition for another season.

"He will link up with the Glamour Boys when the squad returns for pre-season training. We extend a warm welcome to Thabo and look forward to seeing him in the Gold & Black colours of Amakhosi.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Chiefs announced the appointment of French tactician Fernando Da Cruz as the club's new head on a two-year deal with an option to extend.
