BREAKING: PSL coach resigns

Betway Premiership outfit Richards Bay have announced that Ronnie Gabriel has resigned as the club's head coach with immediate effect after a difficult start to the 2026/27 campaign.

The Natal Rich Boyz are yet to register a win in the current season, having settled for three draws and as many defeats in their opening six league fixtures.

Gabriel, who was appointed as the sole head coach at the beginning of the term following the departure of Papi Zothwane to Sekhukhune United, leaves the club languishing in 14th place.

His fate was decided by the 5-1 mauling at the hand of provincial rivals and newly promoted outfit Milford FC over the weekend, ending a five-year stay at the KwaZulu-Natal side.

“Richards Bay Football Club is sad to announce that Head Coach Ronnie Gabriel has resigned from the club with immediate effect,” read the club statement.

"The Club expresses its sincere appreciation to coach Ronnie Gabriel for his dedication, professionalism, and contribution during his tenure for the past seasons with the club as our Technical team member and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.

"Further updates on the new coach will be provided in due course.

Richards Bay are reportedly in talks to appoint former TS Galaxy boss Adnan Beganovic as their new head coach, while ex-Marumo Gallants mentor Phuti Mohafe has also been shortlisted for the role.
