Mamadou Sangaré has opened his account with Brentford. Against Eintracht Frankfurt, the Malian midfielder found the net with a thunderous shot from the edge of the 18-yard box—a goal that’s quickly becoming his trademark.

Promising beginnings

Already credited with an assist against Rennes on August 8 in the 4-1 victory, Sangaré continues to impress, building on his strong start. The Bees cruised to a commanding 7-0 win in a match they thoroughly dominated. Having arrived on August 1 from RC Lens, Sangaré became Brentford’s most expensive signing in club history—a record deal for the London side, who clearly believe in his profile.

A solid season in France

At 24, the Malian international already boasts 16 caps. He’s coming off a stellar campaign with Lens, racking up 33 appearances, lifting the French Cup, and finishing as runner-up in Ligue 1. With his work rate, ability to win the ball high up the pitch, set the tempo, and unleash long-range strikes, Sangaré brings fresh options to Brentford’s midfield.

After two preseason matches—marked by an assist and now a goal—he looks ready for his Premier League debut. The Bees are kicking off their campaign with a new signing who’s already proving he can make an impact at both ends of the pitch.
