El Hadji Malick Diouf could stay at Brentford despite interest from several major English clubs. Having struggled to establish himself since joining the club, the Senegalese left-back is reportedly being monitored by Liverpool and Chelsea. But according to TEAMtalk, the Bees have already made their decision.

Liverpool and Chelsea keeping tabs

Signed from West Ham United before the start of the season, 21-year-old Diouf has so far struggled to find his place in Brentford’s squad. The defender has made just four appearances, only one of them as a starter. His limited playing time is said to have attracted the attention of several Premier League clubs.

According to reports, Liverpool and Chelsea have contacted the player’s representatives to enquire about his situation.

Brentford do not want to sell him in January

Despite this interest, Brentford’s management is reportedly not prepared to let the Senegal international leave. According to TEAMtalk, the club has decided to rule out any deal in the upcoming January transfer window. Keane Lewis-Potter remains the first choice at left-back, but Brentford are said to intend to keep Diouf as an additional option for the rest of the season.

The player is nevertheless under contract with the club until the summer of 2031, a long-term commitment that puts Brentford in a strong position in this matter. With only four appearances since the start of the season, Diouf’s situation on the pitch could continue to raise questions. For now, however, Brentford do not appear willing to open the door to a departure, even in the face of interest from Liverpool and Chelsea.
