Niger international Konan N’Dri needed just one minute to make his presence felt on Saturday 7 November 2026 scoring an immediate equaliser as Lecce fought back to secure a 1-1 draw against Torino in Serie A.

The 26 year old winger entered the match in the 72nd minute at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino replacing Ali Dembele as coach Eusebio Di Francesco searched for an attacking response.

Barely 60 seconds later, N’Dri found the back of the net, cancelling out Giovanni Simeone's opening goal and rescuing a point for the visitors.

Remarkably, the decisive move was created by another African international who had also just entered the pitch, Mali midfielder Lassana Coulibaly.

The two substitutes combined almost immediately, turning Di Francesco's tactical gamble into a decisive moment in the Italian top flight.

Konan N’Dri scores 60 second after entering against Torino

The match had remained goalless at half time before Torino broke the deadlock in the 60th minute.

Argentine striker Giovanni Simeone attempted an angled shot that took a significant deflection off Angolan defender Kialonda Gaspar leaving Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone unable to prevent the opening goal.

With his side trailing 1-0, Di Francesco responded by making three substitutions in the 72nd minute.

N’Dri, Coulibaly and Willem Geubbels entered simultaneously, replacing Dembele, Mohamed Kaba and Nikola Stulic respectively.

The changes produced an almost immediate response.

In the 73rd minute, Coulibaly helped create an attacking opportunity for N’Dri who moved infield and unleashed a left footed effort from outside the penalty area.

The shot took a decisive deflection off Torino midfielder Daniel Braganca, wrong footing goalkeeper Lucas Perri before finding the net.

The goal was officially credited to N’Dri who had barely completed his first minute on the pitch.

It was the kind of instant intervention every manager hopes for when changing a game from the bench.

Two African substitutes change the match in one minute

Beyond N’Dri's remarkable timing, the equaliser highlighted the combined influence of two African internationals.

The Niger winger provided the finish while Mali's Coulibaly supplied the assist.

Both had entered the match at the same moment, creating a direct link between Di Francesco's tactical decision and Lecce's equaliser.

Coulibaly was already enjoying a productive campaign, having previously scored twice in Lecce's 3-2 victory against Monza in September.

Foot Africa highlighted the Malian midfielder's decisive double against Monza, demonstrating his growing importance to the Italian club.

Against Torino, his contribution came through creativity rather than goalscoring.

For N’Dri, meanwhile, the equaliser reinforced his reputation as a direct attacking threat capable of making an immediate difference.

The double African contribution ultimately prevented Lecce from suffering another defeat.

Konan N’Dri continues his impressive Serie A form

Saturday's goal was N’Dri's second in Serie A during the 2026 /27 season, extending a productive period for the former OH Leuven winger.

His previous league goal had arrived on 18 October when he scored during Lecce's impressive 3-0 away victory against Udinese.

On that occasion, the winger doubled his team's advantage in the 33rd minute and delivered an outstanding individual performance.

Foot Africa previously reported on N’Dri's impressive display against Udinese, when he was named Panini Player of the Match.

His latest contribution against Torino showed a different aspect of his attacking value.

Rather than influencing the game from the starting lineup, N’Dri demonstrated his ability to change the scoreline almost immediately after being introduced.

According to Sofascore, the winger finished Saturday's match with a 7.5 rating, the highest of any player on the pitch, despite playing only the closing stages.

He also registered two shots on target and completed all five of his attempted passes during his appearance.

Those numbers underline the efficiency of his performance.

A growing attacking asset for Niger

N’Dri's continued development in Italy is also encouraging news for Niger's national team.

Born in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, on 27 October 2000, the winger holds both Ivorian and Nigerien citizenship.

Earlier in 2026, he chose to represent Niger internationally, becoming another valuable addition to the Mena's attacking options.

As reported when N’Dri opted to represent Niger rather than Cote d'Ivoire, the decision provided the national team with a player already competing in one of Europe's leading leagues.

The winger subsequently scored for Niger in a 2-1 friendly defeat against Algeria on 6 October 2026.

His latest Serie A goal adds to a promising run of performances at both club and international level.

For Niger, maintaining that consistency could make N’Dri an increasingly influential attacking figure.

Torino 1-1 Lecce: Late drama denies the hosts victory

Despite N’Dri's equaliser, Torino continued pushing for a winner in the closing stages.

Che Adams came particularly close in the 88th minute, striking the crossbar with an acrobatic overhead kick.

Simeone then had another opportunity from the rebound but Falcone produced an important save to preserve Lecce's point.

The match eventually finished 1-1, leaving Torino on 14 points and Lecce on 10 after 11 Serie A rounds.
