Sundowns and USM Alger will contest a substantial cash prize in Pretoria, with a penalty shoot-out scheduled if their final finishes level.

Mamelodi Sundowns face USM Alger in the CAF Super Cup on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria. Kick-off is scheduled for 13:00 GMT (15:00 South African time, 14:00 in Algeria). Both teams are chasing another continental trophy and a significant financial reward.

How much will the 2026 CAF Super Cup winners receive?

According to CAF's official announcement, the winning club will earn $500,000, while the losing finalist will take home $250,000. The combined $750,000 prize fund represents an increase of more than 130% compared with the amount on offer in 2022.

Sundowns vs USM Alger: penalties without extra time

There is also an important match rule: extra time will not be played. As reiterated following Friday's technical meeting in Pretoria, if the score is level after 90 minutes, the trophy will be decided immediately by a penalty shoot-out.

Sundowns earned their place by beating Morocco's AS FAR 2-1 on aggregate in the CAF Champions League final. USM Alger won the CAF Confederation Cup against Zamalek, triumphing 8-7 on penalties after a 1-1 aggregate draw. Sundowns won this trophy in 2017 and USMA in 2023. Both will now seek a second title, with the fixture taking place after earlier questions over the final's scheduling.
