Thulani Thekiso leaves Young Africans following impressive work in performance analysis!

Thulani Thekiso, a performance analyst from South Africa, has officially ended his chapter with Young Africans SC. During his time at the Tanzanian powerhouse, the club enjoyed remarkable success, collecting four trophies — among them a league title that matched the record for a fifth consecutive triumph.

His exit is part of a broader shake-up at the club. It follows the departures of head coach Manqoba Mngqithi and strength and conditioning coach Tshepang "Chyna" Mokaila, both of whom left in October. Meanwhile, newly appointed head coach Fadlu Davids has arrived in Dar es Salaam and is now piecing together his own technical staff.

Thekiso had originally arrived at Yanga from Cape Town City FC ahead of the 2025/26 season, brought in on the recommendation of Romain Folz, who was head coach at the time.

Numerous titles and achievements in Tanzania

accordng to FARpost,Thekiso's first taste of silverware with Yanga arrived in September 2025, when the Jangwani giants edged archrivals Simba SC 1-0 to claim the Community Shield. The trophy cabinet kept growing: in January, the club added the Mapinduzi Cup, prevailing 5-4 on penalties over Azam FC after a goalless final in Pemba.

The crowning moment, however, came in June. A 3-0 victory over JKT Tanzania on the final day of the 2025/26 campaign sealed a fifth consecutive Tanzanian Premier League crown, with Yanga finishing two points clear of Simba. They then kicked off the following season by once again defeating their rivals 1-0 in the Community Shield — this time under Mngqithi — bringing the total to four trophies during Thekiso's time at the club.

His stint in Tanzania only enriched a résumé that already featured work with Banyana Banyana, the University of Pretoria and Sekhukhune United. At Sekhukhune, he formed part of the technical team that guided Babina Noko to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage for the very first time in the club's history.
