Leeds United vs Tottenham: Mohammed Kudus Set for a Key Role
Tottenham are preparing for their trip to Leeds United with the ambition of extending their positive run in the Premier League. After beating Crystal Palace 2-0, Roberto De Zerbi’s men are targeting a fourth consecutive victory. Mohammed Kudus is expected to play an important role in that pursuit.
Kudus finding his rhythm again at Tottenham
Mohammed Kudus appears to be gradually rediscovering his best form after an injury-disrupted 2025/26 debut season. Since Tottenham’s winning run began, the Ghanaian winger has shown greater availability and energy on the pitch. In the 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace, he provided an assist for Archie Gray from a corner.
His performance earned him the Man of the Match award, although some supporters felt that other players, particularly those in defence and midfield, also deserved the recognition. The former West Ham player had also played a part in Tottenham’s historic victory at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea, making important contributions in both attacking and defensive phases.
A Leeds defence that will be difficult to break down
Tottenham’s next opponents present a different challenge. Leeds United have the third-best defensive record in the Premier League in terms of goals conceded. Kudus could come up against Tarik Muharemovic, who operates on the left side of the Peacocks’ defence.
In these circumstances, the Ghanaian could find it harder to exploit spaces, get into the penalty area and create goalscoring opportunities. Kudus’s defensive work, ability to win back possession and accuracy in passing will therefore be closely watched. Against a difficult opponent to break down, his contribution could prove decisive even if he does not score or provide an assist.
