Luis de la Fuente has selected 27 players for Spain’s final Nations League group games, with fresh faces joining an already qualified squad.

Luis de la Fuente unveiled Spain’s squad on Friday, 6 November, for the final two matches of the UEFA Nations League group stage. La Roja travel to Prague to face Czechia on Thursday, 12 November, before hosting England at Madrid’s Metropolitano stadium on Sunday, 15 November. Both matches kick off at 20:45 Spanish time.

Three newcomers and several key absentees

Jacobo Ramón, Álvaro Valles and Marc Roca have received their first senior call-ups. Pedro Porro and Joan García return following fitness problems, while Pablo Barrios and Ander Barrenetxea are among the other additions. Rodri, Dani Olmo and Eric García miss out due to physical issues. De la Fuente has nevertheless kept an experienced core featuring Pedri, Fabián Ruiz, Lamine Yamal and Mikel Oyarzabal.

Spain's complete 27-man squad

Goalkeepers : Unai Simón, David Raya, Joan García, Álvaro Valles.

Defenders : Aymeric Laporte, Pau Cubarsí, Marc Pubill, Dean Huijsen, Pedro Porro, Jacobo Ramón, Marc Cucurella, Alejandro Grimaldo.

Midfielders : Fabián Ruiz, Pedri, Mikel Merino, Martín Zubimendi, Álex Baena, Fermín López, Pablo Barrios, Marc Roca.

Forwards : Mikel Oyarzabal, Ferran Torres, Roberto Fernández, Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, Yeremy Pino, Ander Barrenetxea.

Spain lead the group after a perfect previous international window

Spain sit first in League A Group 3 with 12 points from four matches, ahead of England (9), Croatia (3) and Czechia (0). Their place in the quarter-finals is already assured, although top spot is still to be decided. La Roja have recorded four wins, 12 goals scored and five conceded.

In the October portion of the previous international window, Spain defeated Czechia 3-1 on 3 October and won 2-1 away to Croatia on 6 October. That meant two wins, five goals scored and two conceded. Earlier in the same window, they had beaten England 3-2 and Croatia 4-1. Their momentum follows the squad announcement after their World Cup triumph, which retained much of the established core.

The final match against England could decide the group winners. Spain hold a three-point advantage, but the Three Lions boast the better goal difference (+11 to +7). The 3-2 victory at Wembley in September also showed how closely matched the sides can be.
