Spain: Nico Williams opens up about the 2026 World Cup final

Recently, Spanish world champion Nico Williams looked back on the 2026 World Cup final between Spain and Argentina, played just three months ago.

Did Nahuel Molina unintentionally hand the 2026 World Cup to Spain? Having provided the assist for Ferran Torres in the final against Argentina, Nico Williams (24, 36 caps and 6 goals) made a revelation.

"He didn't push me"

The Ghanaian-born winger revealed that the opposing right-back had helped him reach the ball by pushing him in the back. It was a decisive action that did not have the outcome the Argentine had hoped for.

"I think people didn't realise it, but if he hadn't pushed me, I would never have reached the ball. Not even in a thousand lifetimes! The ball was coming down and he pushed me with both arms. When I saw the ball coming, I thought I wouldn't be able to reach it, but after he pushed me, I said to myself: 'Damn, now I can!' I didn't have time to shoot, so I decided to play it back. Ferran arrived and scored," the Athletic winger said in an interview with Football Emotion.
