Cristiano Ronaldo: 1,000 goals before the end of the year?
Cristiano Ronaldo is in a frantic race to reach 1,000 career goals. The Portuguese star could well achieve his goal before the end of 2026.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been chasing 1,000 career goals for some time. This is clearly his last major objective before bringing his career to a close. The former Real Madrid player could well achieve it sooner than expected, judging by the Portuguese star's schedule. Having scored another hat-trick with Al-Nassr on Thursday evening, CR7 now has 985 goals. He is finally closing in on achieving his ultimate goal.
A favourable schedule for Cristiano Ronaldo?
Ronaldo should reach 1,000 goals more quickly, given the Saudi club's schedule. Al-Nassr still have 12 matches to play between the league, the national cup and the Asian Cup before the end of 2026. This raises hopes that CR7 will achieve his goal before 2027.
A return to Portugal at the perfect moment
Al-Nassr will play two Asian Cup matches and nine league games before January 1, 2027. A Saudi Super Cup semi-final is also on the schedule, potentially leading to a final as early as December 23, 2026. That makes 12 potential club matches, which could bring good news for Ronaldo.
Pre-selected for Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo could perhaps make his return to the national team, despite the recent controversies and his premature retirement. Jorge Jesus' side will face Denmark and Wales in the Nations League in mid-November. Another opportunity for the former Real Madrid player to score a few more goals.
