England: Tuchel positive after defeat to Spain

Spain came from behind to beat England (3-2) on Saturday evening in the Nations League after an entertaining clash.

Despite the defeat, Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel said he had taken a positive view of the match. In his opinion, his team has what it takes to compete with the reigning world champions.

"We gave everything to beat Spain. At this level, it is the details that make the difference. Unfortunately, we made too many glaring mistakes. In the final 20 metres, they were more effective and composed in turning our losses of possession into clear chances. However, we had opportunities and we had our chance to beat them. We proved at the World Cup that we were capable of doing so in major tournaments. We were unable to prove it with the result in this match, but I think our way of playing was the right one to beat them," the German said at a press conference.

As a reminder, at the start of the second half, the English had the opportunity to extend their lead, but Harry Kane sent his penalty against the crossbar.
