Burkina Faso: Federation appoints new youth national team coaches

The Burkinabe Football Federation has officially announced the appointment of new coaches for its youth national teams—both boys and girls—on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

On the boys' side, Moussa Sanogo takes charge of the U23 squad, tasked with reviving a team that has been absent from the scene since 2022.

Oscar Barro returns to helm the U20 team, having previously led Burkina Faso to qualification for the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Issa Balbone has been appointed head coach of the U17s, with a clear focus on the Africa Cup and the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Ousmane Ouédraogo completes the technical staff as the U15 boys' coach, focusing on the African Schools Championship.

On the girls' side, Ousmane Coulibaly will lead the U20 team, while Zakaria Ziba returns to manage the U17s, and Véronique Yonli—the only woman among the new appointments—takes over the U15 squad.
