Burkina Faso: Moussa Sanogo appointed as U23 national team coach

The Burkinabè Football Federation is turning a new page with its youth. Moussa Sanogo has been named the new head coach of Burkina Faso's Olympic team.

In a series of appointments across the national teams, the Burkinabè Football Federation has entrusted the U23 side to Moussa Sanogo.

Known as "Falcao," Sanogo is a seasoned coach who has led several youth teams, particularly the U20 and U17 squads. After stints with various clubs, the current SC Majestic manager now faces the challenge of building a competitive side ahead of upcoming African competitions, specifically the qualifiers for the next Africa U-23 Cup of Nations and the 2028 Olympic Games.

The main task for this expert in Burkinabè football will be to rebuild the squad. The U23 national team has been absent from competition since 2022 and hasn't participated in any official tournaments since then.
