The Orange and Blacks made an ideal start to the match, opening the scoring in the 14th minute through Kassi. But the Mauritanians were quick to respond. In the 40th minute, Jowool levelled the score, allowing Nouadhibou to go into the dressing room at half-time with the score at 1-1.

As the match appeared to be heading towards a draw, Karamoko emerged in the 95th minute to score FC San Pedro’s winning goal. It was a valuable strike that gave the Ivorian club an advantage in this two-legged tie.

Thanks to this 2-1 victory, FC San Pedro have taken a significant step towards qualification, although they have not yet secured their place in the next round. The Ivorian side will now have to confirm this performance in the second leg, scheduled to take place in Mauritania, where they will look to protect their advantage and continue their continental campaign.
