Before the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Mamelodi Sundowns, Marcel Koller remains composed. The Al Ahly coach knows his future is a hot topic, but he prefers to focus on the pitch.
The Egyptian club's results have been mixed this season. Second in their group, Al Ahly still managed to eliminate Al-Hilal in the quarter-finals. However, in the league, the team is only in second place. And the recent defeat against Pharco FC in the League Cup has reignited criticism.
In response to the rumors, Marcel Koller remains steadfast. "I'm focused on tomorrow's match. The rest is out of my control," he declared. The Austrian coach reminds everyone that he is still under contract and is determined to reach the final. The first leg will be played this Saturday in Pretoria. The return leg is scheduled in Cairo on April 25. A decisive double-header for Al Ahly... and possibly for Marcel Koller himself.
