CAF sets deadline for Champions League & Confederation Cup draws

CAF is set to host the upcoming Champions League & Confederation Cup draws in Rabat this August.

Setting the Stage for African Club Football

According to a recent report by the Moroccan news outlet Le360, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) plans to hold the preliminary round draws for both the Champions League and the Confederation Cup in Morocco.

The ceremony is expected to take place before 10 August.

Organizers intend to utilize the backdrop of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations WAFCON which Rabat is hosting from 26 July to 16 August, to conduct the men's club draw.

This timeline gives participating teams nearly a month to finalize their technical and logistical preparations before the preliminary continental fixtures officially kick off on 4 September.

Clubs across the continent are currently racing against the clock. CAF has informed member associations that the strict deadline to register teams on the official competition system is 25 July.
