CAF has appointed Nigerian referee Eunice Akintoye to officiate the historic semi-final clash between Algeria and Malawi, scheduled for Wednesday in Rabat.

Algeria will contest the first semi-final in its history at the 2026 CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations this Wednesday, August 12 at 6 p.m., at Rabat's Olympic Stadium. The Greens, along with Malawi, have also secured their place at the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil.

In the quarter-finals, Farid Benstiti's team came from behind to defeat Ivory Coast (2-1), despite Inès Konan opening the scoring in the 35th minute. Inès Khiri leveled the match in the 58th, before Amira Ould Braham sent Algeria into raptures just six minutes later.

Malawi had already made headlines in the group stage with a stunning victory over Nigeria (3-2), the most decorated nation in the tournament's history. The Scorchers then knocked out Ghana (2-1).
