CAF Women's Champions League: WAFU-B qualifiers kick off Sunday in Ouagadougou

The WAFU-B qualifying tournament for the CAF Women's Champions League gets underway this Sunday at the Stade du 04 Août in Ouagadougou. Seven teams are vying for a single spot in the final phase.

The opening fixture will see Union Sportive des Forces Armées take on Dynamique FC from Benin. Kickoff is set for 16:00 GMT.

Two contrasting profiles to launch Group A

USFA will be making their fifth appearance in the zonal tournament. As champions of Burkina Faso, the Armed Forces team will be playing on home soil and will look to leverage their experience. On the other side, Dynamique FC are newcomers at this level. The Beninese club just clinched their national league title for the first time and are stepping onto the subregional stage. Association Sportive de la Kozah from Togo completes Group A.

Only one ticket to the final phase

With seven teams in total, the competition is expected to be fiercely contested. Only the team finishing atop the WAFU-B tournament will secure their ticket to the final stage of the CAF Women's Champions League. Both sides in this opening clash are eager to start strong and give themselves the best possible chance of reaching the semifinals.
