CAN U17: Burkina Faso triumphs over Cameroon!

Led by their young prodigy Ashraf Tapsoba, who scored a stunning brace, Burkina Faso dominated Cameroon (2-1) this Monday at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, during the first day of the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.

A prestigious victory that places the Stallions at the top of Group B, while the Indomitable Lion Cubs can no longer afford any mistakes.

A first half in favor of the Stallions

The Burkinabé, lined up in a 4-4-2 formation, quickly showed their ambition. After an unsuccessful attempt in the 4th minute, Cameroon, playing in a 4-3-3, responded with a low shot from David Yannick Bondoma (6th minute).

However, Burkina Faso's response was swift. In the 19th minute, Ashraf Tapsoba, well-served by Issouf Junior Bara, opened the scoring with an unstoppable shot.

The Indomitable Lion Cubs tried to come back, but their inaccuracies proved costly. Just before the break, Tapsoba doubled the lead with a sensational lob from the center circle, taking advantage of goalkeeper Junior Lopez Abou's advanced position (41st minute). Video:

Cameroon did not give up. David Evra Mimbang Nyangono reduced the deficit in the 75th minute, finishing off a fine pass from Bondoma. Despite a last chance for Franck Mafany Luma (86th minute), the Cameroonians could not find the equalizer.
