The CAF is holding the draw for the CAN U23 2027 qualifiers this Tuesday, a tournament that serves as a pathway to the Los Angeles Olympic Games.

The big day is here. The draw for the CAN U23 2027 qualifiers will take place on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football in Egypt. The ceremony will reveal the full qualification path for all participating teams on their road to the final tournament.

With Egypt automatically qualified as the host nation, 42 teams will compete in the qualifiers. In total, 43 nations are involved in this edition.

A three-round battle for qualification

Of the 42 teams in the qualifiers, 28 will begin their journey in the first round. The 14 winners will then face the 14 seeded nations in the second round.

The remaining teams will have to clear a third and final round to secure one of the seven available spots. They will join Egypt, already qualified, to form the eight-team lineup for the final stage. The tournament is planned for November 2027, though CAF has yet to announce the exact dates.
