Canadian Shield: Ivory Coast invited to this mini tournament next June
The Elephants of Ivory Coast will participate in a mini tournament comprising four nations in Canada during the international break next June.
It's official! The Ivorian football team will experience the June international break in a very special way. Indeed, the Elephants will compete in a four-team mini tournament. Emerse Faé's men will take part in this competition called "Canadian Shield" along with, of course, Canada, New Zealand, and Ukraine. The competition will take place on June 7 and 10, according to the established schedule.
"I confirm the participation of the national team of Ivory Coast, the reigning African champion, in the Toronto tournament. It will be a great opportunity for the Elephants to test themselves against teams from different continents as part of their preparation for the 2026 World Cup. We are particularly eager to face the Canadian team on their home ground in the beautiful city of Toronto. I wish all teams an excellent tournament," said FIF President Idriss Diallo to confirm Ivory Coast's participation in the competition to be held in Toronto. According to information, two matches will be played per day in a double confrontation format, and a champion will be crowned at the end of the tournament.
