Imminent debuts: Carabao Cup or St. James' Park?
According to the Evening Standard, both Marmoush and Savinho are gearing up for their first appearances in Tottenham colors this week.
Spurs face Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night before heading into a major Premier League Matchday 2 showdown against Newcastle United on Saturday.
The timeline for their debuts depends on registration:
- Carabao Cup Option: If Marmoush's transfer is officially ratified before Wednesday's cup tie, the Egyptian international will be available for selection immediately
- Premier League Deadline: Alternatively, Tottenham must complete and submit registration documents for both Marmoush and Savinho by 12:00 PM (BST) - 11:00 AM (GMT) on Friday to clear them for Saturday's clash against Newcastle
A fresh start away from the Etihad
The dual transfer offers both players a clean slate after facing uncertainty at Manchester City. Marmoush experienced limited starting opportunities last season under Pep Guardiola, and following the managerial change, his long term outlook at the Etihad remained ambiguous.
Tottenham moved decisively to reshape their frontline, agreeing to an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy for Marmoush while simultaneously closing the permanent transfer of Brazilian winger Savinho.
